Consortium Cup

The Northeast Consortium (NEC) is comprised of three high schools: Springbrook High School, James Hubert Blake High School, and Paint Branch High School. Points for the Consortium Cup are awarded based on regular season Varsity athletic contests between NEC schools. Junior Varsity athletic contests are not included in the Consortium Cup standings.

At the end of the academic year, the school with the highest winning percentage against fellow Northeast Consortium Cup schools will be crowned Consortium Cup Champions! A trophy will be awarded, with the school’s name inscribed under that academic year. The Consortium Cup Champions will then keep the trophy and proudly display it for the next academic year, until a new Consortium Cup Champion is determined. The trophy will be rotated; it will not stay at one school permanently.

In the event of a tie in points at the end of the academic year, the first tiebreaker will be the number of team state championships. If the first tiebreaker cannot determine a champion, the second tiebreaker will be the number of team regional championships. If the second tiebreaker cannot determine a champion, the third tiebreaker will be number of wins against NEC schools in postseason athletic contests.
